M.F.A., Creative Writing/Writing for the Performing Arts (Playwriting/Screenwriting) : University of California, Riverside.
Secondary Teaching Credential, English: California State University, Northridge. Credential cleared. 
Additional upper division English and Playwriting: California State University, Northridge.
B.A., Theatre: Loyola Marymount University.

EDUCATOR

2008-Present: Reference Section Writers’ Group

Co-founder, administrator, leader of professional writers group that includes three screenwriting professors,
one theatre professor.

2009 - 2017:   Learn4Life High Schools 
  • Taught diverse (primarily Latinx) at-risk high school students 15-21 years old, English and life skills.
  • Counseled & coached students to achieve what they thought they could not achieve, diplomas, jobs, sometimes college.
  • Worked with CIS gang intervention counselors to facilitate students who wanted to change their lives and attend school.
  • Developed nascent drama program. Wrote curriculum and taught Beginning Acting and Intro to Theatre, organized field trips to the revivals of Real Women Have Curves at the Pasadena Playhouse and Zoot Suit at The Mark Taper Forum.
  • Wrote curriculum for additional classes.

2006-2008: College Teaching - Adjunct

  • University of LaVerne: 2007-2008, Co-Taught with Dr. Gerard Lavatori, Honors Class, Scripted Lives, covering French history, film, feminist literary theory and academic writing (two semesters.)
  • Mt. San Jacinto Community College, Menifee: 2006-2008 – taught Intro to Theatre (four semesters), Intro to Film (three semesters) Intro to Acting (summer session 2006,) Intro to Improv (substituted for regular instructor Fall 2006.) 
  • University of California, Riverside: 2007 - Teaching Assistant, Screenwriting  (for Robin Russin, Spring 2007.)
  • Gluck Fellowships: 2006-2007 – Four teaching  fellowships. Two were running summer improvisation and creative drama workshops for high school students, two were teaching playwriting to high school students.
